Vancouver Downs Houston, 3-1
|
The Vancouver Wolves picked up a win at Fox-Chong Park, taking down the Houston Aquas, 3-1. Starting pitcher Li-hong Ho was a big reason why. Ho, now 6-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 4, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The save went to Alex Villalobos, his 2nd this season.
The Wolves got a big at-bat from second baseman Danny Nieto. For the game, Nieto was 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Vancouver a 2-0 lead.
"Li-hong did a heck of a job," said Vancouver manager Zach Meinen.
Houston's current losing streak is now 4 games.
