Las Vegas pitcher Yolber Ajete did his part in helping his team defeat the San Francisco Friars, 6-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the left-hander. Ajete, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 5, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Scott Brock, his 1st this season.

Jessie Bouchard had a big 2-run double for the Aces in the top of the third inning. With Las Vegas leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Kelvin Vaquera, who finished 4th in the WC in wins with 15 in 2080, and swatted a double to center. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aces ahead, 4-0.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Erich Weatherholt.

The first-place Aces sport a record of 33-31.
