Harfangs Earn Late 2-1 Win
|
The outcome was not decided until the very end at Mount Royal Park.
The Harfangs faced a stiff challenge from Havana pitcher Bobby Alkire, but persevered to claim a win at Mount Royal Park. The final score was 2-1. Alkire went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The winner was Montreal reliever Gaige Kunkle, now 1-0. The loser was Ricardo Alas.
Pedro Marcial was the walk-off hero for Montreal. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Harfangs third baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"He who laughs last laughs best," Marcial said, postgame.
The second-place Harfangs now sit at 35-30.
