Hit Streak for Allen Reaches 20 Wednesday, June 6th , 2085 Matthew Allen has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 30-year-old San Diego Destroyers third baseman extended his streak to 20 games, going 1-for-3 as San Diego got the best of the Portland Dragons at Seaward Stadium, 6-1. "Matthew has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Destroyers manager Steve Alstadt said. Matthew Allen doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd and flied out in the 6th. So far this season, Allen has recorded a .275 batting average with 61 hits, 3 home runs, 19 RBIs, 34 runs scored and a .369 OBP. |
