Lobster, Thunderbirds Agree to Deal Sunday, June 17th , 2085 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that Maine and Phoenix have made a swap with a 3rd round draft pick being shipped to the Thunderbirds and in return the Lobster would get 28-year old RF Cody McLaughlin. Maine general manager Matthew McExpos said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the Maine organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. For the season, McLaughlin is batting .299 with 64 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 25 times and batted in 26. |
