Allen Hit String Snapped at 22 Saturday, June 23rd , 2085 The Denver Glaciers got more than the 6-5 victory at Seaward Stadium -- they also put an end to the 22-game hitting streak of San Diego Destroyers third baseman Matthew Allen by holding him without a hit in 4 at-bats. After the game, Allen seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak. "I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today." Allen is currently hitting at a .274 pace with 3 home runs and 21 RBIs. |
