Dragons End Hickey Streak Saturday, July 28th , 2085 It was a doubly miserable day for Cole Hickey of the Buffalo Rangers, as he saw his 30-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 5-0, to the Portland Dragons at Portland Park. The 25-year-old first baseman was held hitless in 2 at-bats by the Dragons. "Anyone on a 30-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Portland manager Greg Carpenter said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." So far this season, Hickey is hitting .326 with 26 home runs. |
