Los Angeles, Seattle Swap Players Sunday, July 29th , 2085 It took some time to iron out the details, but the Stars and Arrows have agreed to a swap. Seattle will get 24-year old RHP Hiroki Tomita, 27-year old RHP Raul Alcaraz, 30-year old LHP Luis Jimenez, 26-year old RHP Victor Marquez, 24-year old RHP Zhi-gang Pi, 29-year old 1B Nick Cook, 27-year old 1B Bill McNeil, 26-year old 2B Alex Ochoa, 26-year old 1B Brian Snavley, and 25-year old 2B Mike Ortega with Los Angeles receiving 28-year old LF Paul Rees in return. A source close to the trade talks said the two clubs were initially looking to make a bigger deal, but discussions broke off late last night. The two sides reconvened early today and eventually settled on this deal. Currently Snavley is batting .182 with 36 hits and 11 home runs. He has knocked in 32 runs and scored 30 times. Thus far this year, Rees has hit .269 with 14 home runs and 56 RBIs. |
