Rueda Tosses Shutout Against San Francisco
Thursday, June 27th , 2086
The San Francisco Friars were almost helpless in their 4-0 loss to the Vancouver Wolves and hurler Roberto Rueda. Rueda kept the Friars confused all game, spinning a 6-hit shutout.
"Tip your hat to Rueda," San Francisco manager Erich Weatherholt said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."
The 27-year-old left-hander had no walks and 7 strikeouts in a strong performance.
"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Rueda said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
To date this season, Rueda has a record of 4 wins and 4 losses and a 4.03 ERA. He has appeared in 17 games and struck out 73 in 102.2 innings.
