New York Blanked by Tanton Wednesday, July 17th , 2086 The New York Titans had no answer for Boston Greens pitcher Gerald Tanton. They failed to score a single run against him, losing, 7-0. New York managed only 4 hits off Tanton, who had 9 strikeouts. The extraordinarily popular Tanton got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd. "Greens fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible." This year, Tanton has worked 118.1 innings with 100 strikeouts en route to a 7-7 record and a 3.50 ERA. View Boxscore View Game Log Watch Highlights |
