Salvat Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Wednesday, July 31st , 2086 The Philadelphia Spectres may have proven to be mere mortals as they lost, 7-6, to the New York Titans, but Armando Salvat continued to hit like a god. The right fielder collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games. "Salvat is playing great and is on fire right now," Spectres manager Ryan Huff said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins." Salvat was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss." Armando Salvat struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Neil Parker in the 7th and walked in the 9th. Thus far this season, Salvat is hitting .404 with 7 home runs, 33 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has 59 hits in 146 at-bats and has played in 35 games. |
