Done Deal: Castro for Mori Sunday, August 4th , 2080 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Avispas announced today the acquisition of 26-year old 3B Yozo Mori, 21-year old RHP Gregg Morales, 22-year old RHP Paul Madonia, 21-year old CF T.J. Gourley, 20-year old 3B Preston Repking, a 1st round draft pick, and a 4th round draft pick from the Alaska Kodiaks in exchange for 23-year old 3B Gabe Castro. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Avispas, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." For the year, Castro is batting .302 with 106 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 50 times and driven in 59. Mori is batting .236 this year with 9 home runs, 46 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has 83 hits in 351 at-bats. |
