Cyclones End Capucho Streak
Thursday, September 14th , 2084
Cincinnati designated hitter Salomão Capucho came into today's game against the Miami Cyclones on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.
The Cyclones did their jobs well, beating the Cincinnati Twins, 4-1, and holding Capucho hitless to snap his 20-game hitting streak. The 24-year-old designated hitter had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-3, telling reporters only that he "came up short."
"What Salomão did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Twins manager Ryan Stoops. "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 20 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."
This year, Capucho has hit at a .281 clip with 157 hits, 20 home runs, 77 RBIs and 90 runs scored.
