Mendez Tames Arrows, 2-0
Thursday, September 21st , 2084
Omar Mendez bent a little, but he didn't break against the Seattle Arrows. The Portland Dragons pitcher hurled a 4-hit, 2-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering no walks and tallying 6 strikeouts.
"Omar is good at getting out of jams," Dragons manager Greg Carpenter told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
In 2 starts this season, Mendez has fashioned a 6-3 record and a 4.15 ERA.
