Matt Steinruck Injured, Out for Year

The season is finished for Matt Steinruck of the Boston Greens. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Greens right fielder suffered a fractured elbow while colliding with a player at a base in a recent game against the Washington Senators. Team doctors said it would take at least 6 months to heal.

This season, Steinruck is swinging the bat at a .301 pace. He has hit 19 home runs and scored 60 times, while driving in 66. His on-base percentage is .393 and he has played in 97 games.
