GONE! GONE! GONE! 3 HRs for Lance Friday, September 4th , 2076 Lyndon Lance was in a home run mode today at Stars Ballpark. The Los Angeles first baseman massacred Vikings pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Minneapolis won the ballgame 5-4 despite the three homers. "I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose." Nonetheless, Lance will now have a place in the league record book. "I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today." Lyndon Lance hit a solo-shot off Slider Brooks in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Slider Brooks in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Edwin Contreras in the 7th and walked in the 9th. This season Lance has hit at a .266 clip with 91 RBIs, 34 home runs and 99 runs scored. |
