Zaldivar Sends Baton Rouge Bats to Deep Freeze
|
Today was Alcides Zaldivar's turn in the rotation for the Fremont Roadsters and he made the most of it, shutting out the Baton Rouge Kings on 2 hits.
The 21-year-old right-hander led the Roadsters to an easy 7-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 5 strikeouts.
"I hope we miss him next time," Baton Rouge manager said. "Zaldivar certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds."
Checking out his stats for the season, Zaldivar has registered 4 wins and 5 losses in 11 starts, posted a 4.86 ERA, and struck out 62 batters in 66.2 innings.
