Ken Wellon will be bringing June's Beta Conference Pitcher of the Month trophy home to Akron. He excelled all month long as he kept opposing hitters guessing, reaching and hoping.
Wellon started 4 games, going 4-0 with 17 strikeouts in 25.2 innings as he compiled his 2.81 ERA.
To date this season, Wellon has a record of 6 wins and 2 losses and a 3.77 ERA. He has appeared in 12 games and struck out 63 in 74 innings.

Which Alpha Conference hurler dominated in the month of June?
According to the voters who decide the Alpha Conference Pitcher of the Month award, it was Steve Pohlman of the Anaheim Rage.
He put together a record of 4-0 with an ERA of 1.32 in 5 starting assignments. In addition, he struck out 33 in 34 innings.
This year, Pohlman has fashioned a 5-6 mark, 4.39 ERA and pitched 80 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .282 against him and he has logged 70 strikeouts.

BC Announces Outstanding Batter Award

Even though he is a newcomer to RSL Triple A, Remo Donelli put up some good numbers in June and earned the BC Batter of the Month award.
He was one of Akron's offensive leaders with a .322 average in 25 games. He also racked up 9 home runs, 34 RBIs, and 19 runs scored.
To date Donelli has chalked up a .280 average with 19 home runs, driven in 58 runs and scored 47 times.
