Big Day with Bat: Acorn 5-for-5
|
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Lake Dalecarlia's Art Acorn made it happen against the Barons. Everything came together at the plate for the 19-year-old first baseman as he collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats -- and helped the Saxons triumph, 10-3, at Saxons Ballpark.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," Acorn said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Art Acorn singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Geovany Pacheco in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Simon Parker in the 6th and doubled in the 8th.
This season, Acorn has banged out 17 hits in 30 at-bats for a .567 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .618 pace and his totals also include 8 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
