Umana Earns BC's Best Pitcher Honor

The hottest hurler in the Beta Conference last month was Orlando Umana of the Milwaukee Explorers. He caught the attention of everybody in the league with some eye-catching stats, good enough to win the BC Pitcher of the Month.
In June, Umana starred with an impressive 4-0 record. In 7 starts he gave up 26 base hits and struck out 30 in 36.2 innings with a 0.74 ERA.
Over the season Umana has thrown 93 innings and dished out 81 strikeouts with a 9-3 mark and a 2.81 ERA.

Hoxie Starter Named AC's Premier Pitcher

June's #1 hurler was Kohei Taniguchi of Hoxie. He gunned down Alpha Conference hitters the whole month and claimed the Pitcher of the Month award. The Scots star piled up 5 wins and 1 loss to take the honor.
The 20-year-old Taniguchi added 40 strikeouts in 38 innings and 12 walks to his season record and compiled a 1.18 ERA. Other clubs hit .162 against him.
To date this year, Taniguchi has compiled a 10-6 mark with a 3.06 ERA in 17 starts.

BC's Top Hitter Announced

Not known for his offensive prowess, Mike Erskin set the league afire in June and took home the Beta Conference Batter of the Month award.
The East Lansing catcher posted a steady .468 batting average, 5 home runs, 15 RBIs and 20 runs.
This year, Erskin is batting .366 with 7 home runs and 28 RBIs. In 62 games he has scored 39 times.
