Beta Conference Picks Top Player Monday, June 11th , 2085 Mike Ramirez must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .714 pace, then the Santa Ana shortstop finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the Beta Conference Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Ramirez quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Ramirez. He hit .714 average (15-for-21) with 1 home run and 9 RBIs. So far this season, Ramirez has gotten 33 hits in 73 at-bats for a .452 batting average with 2 home runs. His stats include 16 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He has played in 22 games. |
