Streak Finally Over, Cleary Held Hitless
Sunday, August 20th , 2084
Bill Cleary went 0-for-4 at Ballpark of Arlington to break his consecutive-game hitting streak at 21 games. The 27-year-old Arlington catcher failed to get a hit in the 3-2 Mallards victory over the Moreno Valley Blaze at Ballpark of Arlington.
Cleary did not make himself available to reporters after the game.
"I think Bill is a little upset," Arlington manager said. "He'll get over it."
For the season, Cleary has produced 62 hits in 177 at-bats for a .350 average with 15 home runs and gotten on base at a .420 clip.
