Glacier Pilots Halt Larini Hit Streak Sunday, June 17th , 2085 Worcester Commodores catcher Pero Larini and his hot bat finally met their match at Ballpark of The Blues. The Anchorage Glacier Pilots snapped his 22-game hitting string, holding Larini hitless in 3 at-bats and also whipping Worcester, 7-3, for good measure. "We're real pleased with this one," Glacier Pilots manager said. "Nobody wants to be on the wrong end of a streak like that, and clobbering Worcester makes it even sweeter." This year, Larini has socked 69 hits in 241 at-bats for a .286 average with 16 home runs. He is getting on base at a .327 pace and his totals also include 39 RBIs and 31 runs scored. |
