Nakazo Nakao Sidelined for Season

Nakazo Nakao expressed his disappointment when he learned that a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament would sideline him for 14 months. "I'll just spend a lot of time in the training room and hopefully speed up the healing process. Nobody likes to be out of the lineup," explained Nakao. The starting pitcher got hurt in today's game with the Lamoine Shockwave. He was hurt throwing a pitch. Team officials had no comment on his roster replacement.
This season, Nakao has crafted a 4-4 mark with a 3.86 ERA in 77 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .215 against him and he has 70 strikeouts.

Big Day with Bat: Repking 5-for-6
Monday, July 2nd , 2085
The Newport News Herons swept past the Salton City Naturals, 10-6, at Naturals Stadium, paced by third baseman Preston Repking. The 25-year-old Repking got 5 hits in 6 at-bats, helping to down the Naturals.
Preston Repking doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Steve Traylor in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This year, Repking is batting .372 with 17 home runs.
