Venegas Blisters Rockford Friday, June 28th , 2086 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Eagle Mountain's 11-1 win over Rockford, third baseman Jose Venegas was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at The Kennel. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Venegas said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Jose Venegas hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Orlando Umana in the 6th and singled in the 8th. This year, Venegas is hitting .277 with 9 home runs and 43 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .326 clip and scored 30 runs. View Boxscore |
