Alpha Conference Names Capucho Best Batter Monday, July 15th , 2080 Salomão Capucho must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .474 pace, then the Montgomery first baseman finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the Alpha Conference Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Capucho quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Capucho. He hit .474 average (9-for-19) with 3 home runs and 9 RBIs. Currently Capucho is batting .252 with 77 hits and 18 home runs. He has knocked in 43 runs and scored 43 times. |
