Counts Won't Get Playoff Berth Wednesday, August 7th , 2080 It's now time for the Montgomery Counts to start turning their attention to what can be done to help improve the club for next season. The team was formally eliminated from playoff contention today for the 2080 season. "We knew a title was a long shot at this point, but mentally there's a big difference between a tiny chance and no chance at all," said Counts reliever Avery Slade. Montgomery last appeared in the postseason in 2061. This is their 19th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 84 times in their 91-year history. Montgomery last won the League Championship in 2003. |
