Gone Again! 3 HR for Abrego Saturday, August 10th , 2080 Ames Lake Jackalopes left fielder Sardis Abrego sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Nevada Seafarers, Abrego told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Abrego pushed the Jackalopes past the Seafarers, 7-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Abrego told reporters after the game. Sardis Abrego hit a two-run home run off Chad Waldrop in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Chad Waldrop in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Chad Waldrop in the 8th and flied out in the 10th. This year, Abrego is batting .218 with 30 home runs. He has scored 55 runs and driven in 65. |
