Year Over for Naturals Lopez Friday, August 16th , 2080 Fernando Lopez of the Naturals just might have to call it quits for the season. The 22-year-old Salton City shortstop received a possible season-ending injury against the Reno Mountaineers recently at Mountaineers Ballpark. Lopez suffered a torn posterior cruciate ligament while running the bases. The Naturals medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 7 months. This season, Lopez is batting .182 with 40 hits, 7 home runs, 19 RBIs, 15 walks, .233 OBP and has scored 16 runs. He has played in 78 games. |
