He may have less experience than most of his RSL Double A peers, but that didn't slow Jorge Amasifuen down at all in 2084.
At the age of 23, the Sudbury shortstop has been named the winner of the Beta Conference Outstanding Hitter Award.
He had a .318 batting average and a .433 on-base percentage this year. In 113 games he piled up 129 hits, 33 doubles, 4 triples, 10 home runs, 55 RBIs and 73 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 15 first place votes out of a possible 30. Jose Zermeno of the Newport News Herons finished second in voting with 14 first place votes, while Neosbel Benavides of the Reno Mountaineers finished third with 1 first place vote.
