Kunihisa Nitta Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year Saturday, May 5th , 2085 The Stompers received bad news this morning. Kunihisa Nitta will miss 11 months due to a stretched elbow ligament. He sustained the injury in the Louisville-Murfreesboro game while throwing a pitch. "I'm disappointed more than anything," he told reporters later in the day. "You can't help your team on the bench," Nitta sighed. "I'll do the rehab work and hope for a quick recovery." To date this season, Nitta has registered 5 starts, 0-3 won-lost mark, 9.86 ERA, 21 IP, 12 strikeouts and 5 walks. Opposing teams have hit .379 against him. |
