5-for-5 Day for Flores Sunday, June 24th , 2085 Murfreesboro Rifles second baseman Hugo Flores had a day to remember at Ballpark of Louisville, ripping apart the Louisville Stompers and sparking the 9-1 Rifles win. Flores wrote his name in the record books with a 5-hit barrage, finishing his special day 5-for-5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Flores told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid it." Hugo Flores doubled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and was hit by a pitch in the 9th.
