Wedel Slaps 5 Hits Thursday, August 8th , 2080 All game long, Trois-Rivieres's Jason Wedel was rattling the walls at Trois-Rivières Park and banging out base hits against the Fairbanks Goldpanners. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Aquanauts had a win, 10-3. Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 21-year-old first baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this." Jason Wedel singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Hua Ni in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th.
