Big Bang! 3 HR for New Orleans's James Thursday, August 15th , 2080 New Orleans left fielder Bert James saw a fantastic day go to waste at Blues Grounds as the Blues lost, 5-4, despite a trio of home runs from the youngster. "It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected James said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win." The 20-year-old tallied three homers in a 4-for-4 day, and added 3 RBIs and 3 scored. "That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said St. Louis manager . "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win." Bert James hit a solo-shot off Chris Westfall in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Chris Westfall in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Willie Contreras in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. To date James has chalked up a .219 average with 12 home runs, driven in 24 runs and scored 33 times. |
