Best BC Reliever Named
Monday, September 11th , 2084
At the age of 19, Willie Zalazar says he still has a lot to learn about life in RSL Single A.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Trois-Rivieres Aquanauts reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2084 Beta Conference Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the San Vicente, Costa Rica native said.
For the season, Zalazar had 18 saves in 34 relief appearances, which totaled 38. He fanned 31 betters, while walking 19 and put up a record of 3-1 to go with his 1.42 ERA.
He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 30. Chris Barona of the Milwaukee Explorers finished second in voting with 5 first place votes, while Chris Kingsbeer of the Scott County Cougars finished third with 3 first place votes.
